Welcome to Year 2F
Summer - Term 1
This term our topic is - The secret life of animals
We will be learning about the animals that live around the world. We are going to design our own animal and habitat! We will also be using different types of printing to create animal prints.
We will also be looking at trust as our school value and we will be asking what we can learn from Christian and Jewish creation stories during RE.
We also have the SATS at the end of May so we will be doing lots reading, writing and maths this term.
Week starting 14th May - Y6 SATS
Week starting 21st May - Y2 SATS
We have 30 amazing members in our class and our teacher is Mrs Fairhurst.
Year 2 is a great year and as you know we will end the year with the Government statuary requirement SAT’s tests. Although important, the assessment process that is determined at the end of the year is not solely focused upon the Reading and Maths tests. Teacher assessment is the most important part of the end of year judgements of each child. Our year will be full of fun, excitement and learning.
What we have been up to so far....
Our school day starts at 8:45am.
In order to gain further independence we encourage children to come into class on their own and remember to hand in any planners, homework books, notes or snack money.
Snack money is 50p for the week and is paid in advance. This will provide the children with a piece of toast for Mon-Fri. Children will also have the opportunity to eat a piece of fruit during afternoon break.
Our morning break is at 10.15 am, lunch time is 11.45 am until 1pm and afternoon break is 2.00 pm.
ALL CHILDREN RECEIVE A FREE SCHOOL MEAL IN YEAR 2. YOU CAN PRE-ORDER THIS ONLINE OR YOUR CHILD CAN SELECT THEIR MEAL DURING REGISTRATION.
We have daily English and Maths sessions, including guided reading and phonics. We implement a creative curriculum throughout the week which includes Art, DT and computing. We also learn about history, geography, science and RE. We have PE and music each week which is taught by specialist teachers.
